On the Way to the Seasons Circuit: Chronicle of a Winter Sunrise in Vicente López

 
The journey begins long before the sun comes up. It all starts under a deep blue and violet sky filled with altocumulus clouds at Plaza Italia. At that hour, the streetlights and the metallic glint of the fences reflect that perfect calm that always precedes a race day trip.
To get there, we got off the Line 29 bus at the first stop on Av. Del Libertador. Even though the second stop is barely 200 meters away and closer, street closures usually create a bottleneck that slows down traffic. Getting off earlier is always the right call.
As we walked toward the event, entering via Av. Laprida, the light slowly began to shift: the sky transitioned from violet to a soft gray over the avenues, while the first runners wearing bluish-cyan t-shirts appeared, heading toward the gathering point.

Sunrise on the Coast
Although the morning was cold, the weather was actually quite friendly: between 10 °C and 11 °C (a real luxury compared to last year’s 5 °C). Leaving home very early, the app predicted terrible weather and even a chance of rain. Luckily, the clouds cleared up, leaving behind an impeccable morning for a run.
Around 8:00 AM, the light simply exploded on the horizon over the Río de la Plata. There was a beautiful contrast between the layers of grayish clouds and the golden, orange glow of the sun peeking over the water.
All around, the coastal green spaces blended with concrete paths, event barricades, and a sea of cyan shirts standing out against the crowd's black coats, jackets, and vests. In the background, the Circuit's iconic structures were already visible: the massive shirt-shaped inflatable, the main stage with its blue screens, and the course archways.

The Wait and the Start
The 10K started at 8:00 AM and the 5K at 9:00 AM. We arrived just past eight, right as the wave of 10K runners was already on the course. We waited for everyone to pass so we could safely cross into the venue. Once on the other side, there was still time to walk around, take photos, and find a good spot to warm up.
The scenery captured all the unique magic of winter races: waking up early in the cold, watching the sun rise right by the river, and sharing that energy with thousands of people running with the exact same passion.
