The Arrival and the Reward: We completed the Winter edition of the Circuito de las Estaciones (Circuit of the Seasons), and there is nothing quite like that feeling of accomplishment. As the 5K runners were still crossing the finish line, we went through the essential runner's ritual: bottle of water, sports drink, chip return, and medal around the neck! Of course, we couldn’t miss the quick photo op at the edge of the chute with the official race photographers.
The Post-Race Party: Outside the course, the park turns into a celebration. Everyone experiences the post-race in their own way: reunions with loved ones, mate on the grass while waiting for the award ceremonies, group photos of running teams, and, in our case, cheering on teammates who were still out on the course.
Wrapping Up with an Urban Trek: To wrap up the day with a bit of an urban trek, we started our walk back along Francisco N. de Laprida Street to Del Libertador Ave to catch Bus Line 29. Nothing beats an urban stroll to cool down the muscles and celebrate finishing another race.
