Movie "Strayed" (2003) directed by André Téchiné.
This movie starts off promising, with good cinematography and set in 1940 in the midst of war, but focused on the civilian population. However, past the first 30 minutes, it loses its way and disappoints, turning into a somewhat tedious love story. It loses the initial charm—which even felt realistic and intriguing at first—to end up being rather cheesy and uninspiring. I didn't like the music. I would have preferred it to keep the momentum of those early moments, showing real (or fictional) experiences about the lives of French refugees within France itself—migrants because of the war—and what life was like in those times, but that is just my personal preference. Of course, if someone enjoys romance or imaginary romantic tragedies, this is the movie for them.
