Walking through Palermo, CABA: Plaza Alemania & The Caracara

Walking through some streets of the Palermo neighborhood.
•    Starting Point: Intersection of Av. Dorrego and Av. Del Libertador.
•    Ending Point: Intersection of Av. Las Heras and República Árabe Siria Street.
•    The Route:
o    2 laps around the Rosedal circuit.
o    2 laps around Plaza Alemania.
Recreational Walk
A steady walk without long pauses. The speed chart shows gentle variations, typical of a recreational stroll with moments of observation or pedestrian crossings. The main walk was part of a day of generally high mobility, with additional movements outside the park circuit.
The route describes a moderate aerobic activity, ideal for cardiovascular maintenance and light fat burning. The consistency in activity rings and the hourly distribution of steps reinforce a sustained recreational training pattern, more oriented toward well-being than competitive performance.

Activity Breakdown & Heart Rate
During the 70 minutes, my heart rate ranged between 70 and 158 bpm, indicating a healthy and adaptable cardiovascular response.

•    Aerobic Zone (~24 mins): The majority of the time was spent here, where the body efficiently uses oxygen to sustain effort—ideal for improving cardiovascular capacity and endurance.
•    Fat-Burning Zone (13 mins): Spent in this zone to support lipid metabolism and active recovery.
•    Anaerobic & Strenuous Zones (<6 mins total): This brief time suggests peaks of intense effort, probably during intervals or pace increases, useful for stimulating power and lactate tolerance.
Overall, the pattern reflects a balanced workout, with aerobic predominance and a good distribution of intensities.

The Highlight: A Southern Caracara
The highlight of the walk was a Southern Caracara (Caracara plancus), perched on the fence of Plaza Alemania. They usually move in pairs, and in this case, its partner was inside the plaza. This one appeared more friendly toward passersby; normally they tend to fly away, but this bird was highly focused on food scraps next to a trash container.
It allowed for close photos and filming, and when it finally decided to move, it leapt mid-flight toward the sidewalk.
I managed to capture the contrast between its stillness on the Plaza Alemania fence and the shot mid-flight, just before touching the sidewalk, with wings spread showing the characteristic black-and-white pattern of these birds.
